Apex deployment 'elevates' Celebrity's ex-UK offering, says president
Celebrity Cruises’ Celebrity Apex ship has kicked off its debut ex-UK season from Southampton.
The 2,910-passenger ship – part of the line’s Edge-series fleet – is currently operating an eight-night Norwegian Fjords sailing.
During summer 2024, Apex will offer a mix of itineraries, ranging from four to 13 nights, visiting places such as Arctic Circle and party island Ibiza.
Celebrity president Laura Hodges Bethge said: “We’re bringing one of our most innovative ships to Southampton, providing guests the opportunity to sail in style directly from the UK.
“It’s an exciting time as we elevate cruising from the region, enabling our guests to explore and restore with premium facilities, elevated food and drink experiences, and exciting activities and entertainment.”
Apex has 29 restaurants, bars and lounges including Fine Cut Steakhouse, Raw on 5 and Eden as well as private restaurant Luminae in The Retreat.
The Theater has three exclusive stage shows – Rockumentary, Tree of Life and Crystallize.
In addition, passengers can also watch a cabaret show in The Club.
Last year Celebrity announced Apex would return to Southampton for the summer 2025 season, meaning it will operate out of the UK port for two consecutive summers.
The line increased the number of Arctic Circle and Norwegian Fjords sailings next year compared to previous ex-UK programmes it offered.
