Crystal has expanded its UK and EMEA sales presence with two new hires including former Ponant business development manager Danny Giles.
The ultra-luxury line said the appointments will enable it to provide support for trade partners and hit strategic targets in the UK and Europe.
Giles, who will join Crystal on 6 November, will support travel agents across the Scotland, north of England and Ireland.
As regional sales manager, he will focus on revitalising and building strong connections with Crystal’s travel partners new and old.
He will report into Stephen Joyner, Crystal’s UK and Ireland senior sales manager.
Crystal hailed Giles’ “wealth of knowledge” having spent 20 years in travel, 14 of which have in luxury and expedition cruising.
“Danny has an in-depth understanding of the cruise industry and will play a pivotal role in driving trade sales performance and expanding the market presence of Crystal within his region,” it added.
On 1 November, Stefan Nicodemus will take up the role of regional sales manager, northern Europe, and report into Michael Steffl, Crystal’s EMEA director trade sales.
Prior to Crystal, Nicodemus spent 23 years at Hapag-Lloyd Cruises.
On Giles and Nicodemus’s hires, Matias Lira, Crystal’s senior vice-president trade sales LATAM, UK and EMEA, said: “I am confident their knowledge, approach and enthusiasm – not only internally but also with agents – will prove invaluable as we continue to expand our sales presence within these important markets.
“This commitment to providing full support for the UK and EMEA is ongoing with another new appointment to Crystal’s UK trade team on the horizon.”
