Jos Dewing has left his UK managing director role at AE Expeditions after nearly three years to pursue his “next adventure”.
The cruise industry veteran told TTG that he parted ways with the two-ship expedition line “on good terms”.
"I’ve decided to focus on my next adventure," Dewing said.
Posting on LinkedIn on Monday (5 February), he wrote: “So, last week was my last week at AE Expeditions. It has been a very difficult decision to leave AE, and I pay tribute to a truly incredible bunch of people globally (land and sea) and a fantastic team here in the UK too in outside and inside sales.
“My time at AE has been hugely rewarding, learning so much about the true nature of expedition and small-ship travel from some of the best and most experienced people on the planet.
“I would like to thank everyone for an amazing experience.”
He added: “There is no question that AE will go from strength to strength, and I am proud to have been a small part of this journey.”
Dewing said he would announce a new cruise-related project in the coming months.
AE Expeditions last month announced that it had become a B Corp Certified business, reaching the next milestone in its sustainability journey.
Dewing added: “When I joined the expedition company in 2021, we had just a single ship, The Greg Mortimer, laid up due to Covid.
“It is amazing to see just how far the company has come in less than three years. Two ships operating with world-beating scores, a third new-build on the horizon and a product continuing to operate at the very highest levels of experience, innovation and responsible travel, as highlighted from our recent B Corp Certification.”
