Marella Cruises has pulled its upcoming Asia and Middle East programme due to the ongoing conflict in the Red Sea.
Sailings on Marella Discovery 2 between 1 November 2024 and 30 April 2025 have been cancelled and impacted customers are currently being contacted by their booking agent to discuss options.
These options include being able to rebook with a £200 per person reduction or receive a full refund.
“We can confirm due to the ongoing conflict in the Red Sea area we have made the difficult decision to cancel our Asia and Middle East programme,” a spokesperson for the Tui-owned line said.
“We apologise for the disappointment and inconvenience caused to impacted customers and we hope to see them onboard a Marella Cruise very soon.”
Marella is one of several operators to amend or axe itineraries that go through the Red Sea where tensions continue to escalate.
Earlier this month, Holland America Line changed its 2025 Grand World Voyage itinerary to protect passengers.
The last 43 days of the 124-day cruise were amended and ports of call in Africa and Europe were added.
This year HAL’s parent company Carnival Corporation confirmed it had rerouted 12 ships’ itineraries due to escalating tensions in the Red Sea.
