Riviera Travel has expanded its programme of combination cruises with an itinerary option that includes both the Seine and the Rhone rivers in France for the first time.
The new 14-night Grand Cruise of France itinerary is a combination of the operator’s Seine, Paris and Normandy sailing and Burgundy, Rhone and Provence cruise. Prices start from £3,349pp.
It is one of six combination cruises that agents can book with Riviera and will see guests sail on two different ships – Lord Byron and Jane Austen. Others combination cruises feature the Rhine and Moselle rivers.
Riviera started combining popular river cruise itineraries to create 14-, 17- and 28-night sailings a year ago.
Will Sarson, Riviera Travel product director, highlighted how demand for longer holidays had encouraged Riviera to expand its combination cruise programme.
“These new cruise packages combine two of our most popular river cruise itineraries into one seamless and unforgettable holiday experience," he said.
“With the increasing trend for longer duration holidays, we saw a fantastic opportunity to offer our customers the best of both worlds.”
Sarson added: “Interestingly, the Seine has proven to be one of the top sellers during the current peak sales season so a good one for the agents to be aware of.”
It comes after the river cruise and escorted touring specialist announced that it is now paying agents commission on previously exempt booking elements such as upgrades and other ancillary add-ons.
Single supplements, upgrades, extra baggage, pre-booked seats and priority boarding bookings will all earn agents extra cash this year.
The change is a result of feedback from the Riviera agent engagement committee, which will meet again next month.
