Marella Cruises has confirmed new homeports for Marella Discovery 2 this winter after scrapping its planned Asia and Middle East programmes due to conflict in the Red Sea region.
Marella Discovery 2 will now homeport in Malaga from 7 November 2024 for a series of winter sailings and then in Tenerife and Gran Canaria from December 2024 to March 2025.
After this it will port in Limassol for summer 2025. Itineraries are now on sale from a variety of UK airports.
Chris Hackney, Tui UK and Ireland’s managing director of cruise, said: “We do appreciate how disappointing it was to those customers who were impacted by the cancellation of our Asia programme on Marella Discovery 2, but we are confident with the breadth of programme we have to offer something different to our customers.”
Malaga will offer sailings on two itineraries; Spanish Flavours, departing on 7 November 2024, will call at Palma, Barcelona, Valencia, Cartagena and Gibraltar, from £931pp.
Sights and Delights, which departs from 14 November, will visit Lisbon, Portugal, Cadiz, Casablanca, Cartagena and Motril, from £930pp.
Tenerife will also offer sailings on two new itineraries. Winter Escape departs on 28 November 2024, calling at Malaga, Gibraltar, Cadiz and Gran Canaria.
Sail into Spring, departing on 24 March 2025, will visit Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Cartagena, Malta and Limassol.
Cruise and stay options will include more than 100 hotels.
