American Airlines will return to Scotland in the spring after a five-year absence during the pandemic.
The carrier will operate a seasonal Philadelphia service to Edinburgh, starting on 24 May.
Flights will depart Philadelphia ay 7.05pm, arriving in Edinburgh at 7am. Return flights will depart Edinburgh at 11.35am, arriving in Philadelphia at 2pm.
American will operate the route using a Boeing 787-8 aircraft. The seasonal service will run from late May through to October.
It is the first time American has operated to Scotland since 2019.
"Customer demand for flights to and from Europe continues to be strong as travellers seek to explore cities full of culture and history," said the airline’s vice-president international operation Jose Freig.
"Edinburgh was a key dot on the map for American Airlines when we first launched our Scottish service back in 2015 and we are excited to return in summer 2025. With this route, our customers in Scotland will have access to one of our fastest growing US hubs, from where they can connect to explore new destinations the US and beyond."
Edinburgh chief executive Gordon Dewer added: "This [route] sees us reconnecting – and significantly surpassing – all of our pre-Covid transatlantic routes, demonstrating the significant North American demand for Edinburgh and Scotland."
