EasyJet and British Airways will offer a direct link to Tbilisi, capital of Georgia, from next spring, bringing a new city break destination within reach.
EasyJet flights will operate from Luton from 1 April 2025 with a summer-only service. Departures will be on Tuesday and Saturday, with a flying time of almost five hours.
BA will commence services a day earlier, operating four times a week and with connections from eight UK airports. It will also operate summer-only.
EasyJet said: “Tbilisi offers an untapped, affordable city break and a rich blend of history, diverse architecture, and culture.”
Attractions include a picturesque old town, historic sulphur baths, a lively arts scene and award-winning wines.
BA last flew to Tbilisi in 2013. Neil Chernoff, BA chief planning and strategy officer, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Tbilisi back into our route network.
"We expect this to be a popular route with the leisure market, which has seen a strong comeback since 2019, as well as with those looking to enjoy direct flights to visit friends and family. We look forward to improving the connectivity between our two capital cities next year.”
BA will offer return flights from £275 and two-night packages from £369pp.
EasyJet will offer a morning or lunchtime UK departure time and late night arrival, while BA’s flight will be overnight, departing 21.25 and arriving at 05.30.
