Explore Worldwide will offer e-bike options across almost all of its cycling tours next year, as well as trial several e-bike only departures – a move it says will allow couples, families and groups with varying degrees of fitness to enjoy its cycling tours.
The operator has introduced e-bike options "across almost every Explore cycling trip", while a number of e-bike only departures will be available on Explore’s Cycle Provence, Cycling in France – Canals and Castles of the Midi, and Dalmatian Coast tours.
Seven-night tours start from £1,219pp and range up to £1,745pp, including accommodation, breakfast and local transportation. Flights are excluded.
The Cycle Provence e-bike departure will get under way on 14 September, while Cycling in France e-bike departures are fixed for 1 June and 7 September. Those swayed by Dalmatia e-bike tours have options departing on 1 June and 5 October.
Growing demand for cycling holidays, particularly those featuring e-bikes, is one of Explore’s top predictions for 2024 travel trends.
Explore said e-bikes were the perfect introduction to cycling holidays as they allow people to tackle a wider variety of routes, taking in hilltop villages and steep mountain climbs.
“It’s also great for couples, or groups of friends, with varying fitness levels who want to join the same challenging graded cycling tour without the worry of managing longer distances,” said Explore.
Explore revealed a new brand identity last month, one it said reflected the company’s “essence of exploration and personal connection” after 42 years of operations.
