Jet2CityBreaks will start offering wine tours of Portugal’s Douro Valley this summer after bringing forward its plans to launch flights to Porto from Manchester airport by a year.
The tours form part of Jet2’s growing Discover More programme, which focuses on experienced-based city breaks and holidays to the likes of Iceland, Turkey and Croatia.
Jet2 said its full-day wine tours departing Porto would feature visits to two port producers, including a tasting and tour of the vineyards, before a typical Rabelo boat cruise.
As part of the package, customers will also be able to immerse themselves in Porto’s history and culture, and sample its cuisine and nightlife.
“We are seeing more customers wanting to experience it all on their holidays, whether that is adventure, culture, history or sightseeing, so this expansion of our Discover More collection is in direct response to that demand,” said chief executive Steve Heapy.
“We are confident that our Discover More packages to this superb city will be very popular, as people look to get more from their getaway while taking advantage of all the award-winning benefits of booking a Jet2CityBreaks package.”
Services to Porto from Manchester airport will take off this August, with Porto flights from Birmingham scheduled to start next March. Breaks lead in from £589pp to £699pp for a three or four-night stay on a B&B basis.
