Tui has debuted its hotel portfolio in China, together with its first property in Malaysia.
Three developments under the Tui Blue brand have opened. The Tui Blue Wusongkou Cruise Port, with 83 rooms, is located at the largest cruise terminal in Asia and is a starting point to explore Shanghai.
Another, the Tui Blue Taicang, with 129 rooms, is situated near Tianjing Lake. Taicang is described as a historic river town located along the Yangtze River in Jiangsu province. The city also has a connection to Hanover-based Tui, as more than 500 German enterprises have operations there.
The third property is the Tui Blue Yangshuo Xiangheli, Guilin, set among karst landscape and the Li River.
Tui’s Malaysia debut is inland at Ipoh, capital of Perak state. The Tui Blue The Haven Ipoh with 150 rooms, is set in the old city. It will be followed by Tui Blue Maduzi Bangkok and Tui Blue Berawa in Bali.
"Our rapid expansion in China and south-east Asia underscores the strong demand for the Tui Blue brand in these fast-growing travel markets," said Artur Gerber, Tui Blue hotels and resorts managing director.
Tui sees the Tui Blue leisure brand as key to expansion in Asia and sub-Saharan Africa. It launched new hotels in Thailand and Vietnam in the past month, and is set to open in Cambodia and Gambia this year.
