Boasting some of the wildest and most majestic landscapes on the planet, the Arctic is a summer destination unlike any other your clients will have encountered. Among the most popular locations are Spitsbergen, the Canadian High Arctic and Greenland, and they all feature in Quark Expeditions’ portfolio, operating every May to September.

The line’s Arctic 2025 portfolio has been curated to allow travellers to fulfil their unique polar dreams. From exploring the legendary Northwest Passage, to flying in a helicopter and landing on the Greenland Ice Sheet, Quark Expeditions can make clients’ wish lists a reality. And its team of seasoned expedition guides promise to “immerse your clients in the Arctic landscape in ways no one else can.”

They’ll ensure guests get off the ship as often as possible to explore by helicopter, kayak, mountain bike and on foot, so they can spot polar bears in Svalbard, visit Indigenous communities in the Canadian High Arctic, camp along the Tasermiut Fjord in Greenland and more.

The line appeals to a broad demographic, and among Quark Expeditions’ clients are couples, solo guests, retirees and active travellers. Here are the three key Arctic destinations the line focuses on, and why your clients will love them:

Voyages run from August to September

Invite clients to journey through some of the most pristine wilderness in the world in the Canadian High Arctic. There are 35,563 islands in the Canadian Arctic Archipelago, and the region is one of the world’s least disturbed marine ecosystems, home to spectacular wildlife such as polar bears, ringed seals, and bowhead, narwhal and beluga whales.

Clients can wind through the icy channels of the Northwest Passage as they retrace the historic Franklin Expedition, and will be welcomed by vibrant indigenous communities, who share their customs, cuisine and ways of life. While sparsely populated, the region is rich in Inuit culture, especially in Nunavut.

Like Quark Expeditions’ other Arctic itineraries, these sailings can be undertaken on Quark Expeditions’ 199-guest vessel Ultramarine, which launched in 2021, and boasts two twin-engine Airbus H145 helicopters for the ultimate in off-ship adventures.

Voyages run from August to September

Along with epic glaciers, icebergs and ice sheets, your clients will see thriving Inuit communities, breathtaking fjords and lush valleys. Plus, there are a myriad of adventure options, like helicopter exploration, mountain biking, camping and kayaking.

East Greenland is vast and sparsely inhabited, while West Greenland offers more indigenous community experiences, icebergs and Viking history. Then there’s South Greenland, home of the 70km long Tasermiut Fjord, a vast largely unexplored landscape that beckons to adventurers who long to explore some of the most remote parts of Greenland.

Voyages run from May to July

Spitsbergen, known as the “wildlife capital of the Arctic”, is the largest island in Norway’s Svalbard archipelago. Located about 1,300km from the North Pole, Spitsbergen is dark four months of the year, but when the sun returns in April the days lengthen, until June when the sun never sets. It’s this near-constant light that creates the perfect conditions to spot polar bears, walruses, reindeer, arctic foxes, beluga whales, seals and seabirds, against a backdrop of snow-capped mountains, glaciers and fjords.
