The spice of life

The spice of life

We all talk about hybrid working these days, but that’s just the physicality of where we do it from. Actually, with me, it’s more a case of hybrid jobbing(!)

It seems like we all have to find space for a lot more things these days – I mean mentally and emotionally (let’s not talk about the physical clutter we all accumulate). Many of us juggle various – sometimes unpredictable – demands on work time with our personal lives, maybe even side hustles, social media, plus what’s happening out there in the big wide world. It’s a lot, isn’t it? I was lucky enough to stay in a cabin at the wonderfully remote Oasyhotel set within a nature reserve in Tuscany recently: it reminded me how important these resets are for anyone, especially the hard workers of this industry.

So, what hybrid jobbing is going on at HQ, I hear you ask? You may think this magazine is a lot of the work, but what we tend to devote more time to is the building of communities, our digital world (if you don’t receive our weekly doses of luxury via email, please do sign up), and our events, of which there are two large ones on the horizon. Firstly, the TTG Luxury Travel Awards are back! I am proud to say we will be returning to Raffles London at The OWO on 28 February 2025, and have lots of new things to tell you about (see page 14).

And, as a conference producer, I’m also excited about the speakers we have at our TTG Luxury Travel Summit, set to take place alongside Luxpo on 17 October. Additionally, as a event planner, I’m also thrilled we are working with Visit Norway as the destination looks to make more of a mark in the psyche of high-end agents and their clients, with a London workshop to come. You know what they say: variety is the spice of life.  Just as long as it doesn’t get too hot in the kitchen…
