The Hollywood A-listers have been recruited by the tourist board to star in a new two-year promotion, which will showcase the destination’s range of experiences
Abu Dhabi has a new partnership with Hollywood power couple Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky. It will be a two-year collaboration, using the high-profile duo to showcase Abu Dhabi’s tourism offering.
The campaign launched with a video of the Australian couple, on set, daydreaming about a getaway. The video’s message: ’Could use a vacation right now’ is intended to capture that universal desire to escape on a holiday to somewhere that has good weather and lots of experiences.
Pataky says: “When it comes to family holidays, Abu Dhabi has it all. My kids have fallen in love with Abu Dhabi because it gives them a playground for all the things they want to do. Whether it’s theme parks with exciting roller coasters, dune bashing and horse riding in the desert, to catching the best wave, Abu Dhabi has it all, and is now our must-do holiday spot.”
Hemsworth adds: “We’ve travelled the world but Abu Dhabi has captured our hearts. The adventures have left us with amazing memories that will last a life-time.”
Abu Dhabi has recently announced the build of a Sphere Abu Dhabi, following the lead of Las Vegas, which was the first destination to have the cutting-edge entertainment venue. The 20,000-capacity venue will be used for hosting major concerts and shows. Construction has yet to begin, and no opening date has been announced.
The tourist board is also planning a strategic campaign around Saadiyat Cultural District, where the Louvre Abu Dhabi is located and major expansion is underway. Next year the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi, teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi and Guggenheim Abu Dhabi are all due to open in the area.
