In this Hawaiʻi In The Spotlight video, you’ll hear heaps of selling tips in under five minutes, from Hawaiʻi Tourism UK account manager Fleur Sainsbury.
Did you know?
- There are actually 137 recognised islands in the Hawaiʻi archipelago. Six are open for tourism though the main four are Oʻahu, Maui, Kauaʻi and the Island of Hawaiʻi (formerly called Big Island)
- The oldest island is Kauaʻi in the west at 5.1m years old, while the youngest is the Island of Hawaiʻi in the east at approximately half a million years old.
- Many films have been shot on the islands including Jumanji, South Pacific, and of course Jurassic Park
- 80% of Kauaʻi is not accessible by road and the best way to experience wonders like the Napali Coast and Waimea Canyon is from the air (or from the sea, in the case of the Napali Coast)
- There aren’t that many roads on the Islands and traffic can be heavy at peak times. Therefore if your clients are keen to visit popular tourist spots including small towns, hiking trails or certain beaches, do encourage them to travel off peak on weekdays rather than in peak times and on weekends if possible
