Top offers for next year's Sydney WorldPride celebrations
Do you have clients who’d love to experience a Pride event like none other, with a large dose of sunshine thrown in? Well why not wave them off to the main event in Sydney – the first WorldPride to be held in the Southern Hemisphere – and encourage them to explore wider New South Wales too?
With Sydney WorldPride taking place from 17 February-5 March 2023, Destination NSW has teamed up with Premier Holidays to create two four-night packages to the Pride celebrations in February and March, and a number of optional extensions, from the Blue Mountains to Byron Bay.
What’s on the agenda?
Coinciding with the 50th Australian Gay Pride Week, WorldPride 2023 will take place during the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras season, comprising four main events and countless others.
The opening concert, Live & Proud presented by American Express, on Friday February 24, will see clients treated to the stars both overhead and onstage. Hosted by Casey Donovan and Courtney Act at the Domain, the event will see a host of Australia’s best singers and musicians take the stage, including a special performance by the one and only Kylie Minogue.
Then on Sunday 26 February your clients will need to pull their dancing shoes on for Domain Dance Party: the biggest LGBT+ circuit event Australia has ever seen. Local and international DJs will hit the decks in the open air in front of 10,000 people.
The following weekend, Bondi Beach Party presented by Optus will see the sunny hotspot become the city’s main club spot for 12,000 people for seven hours.
And finally, Sunday 5 March will bring Rainbow Republic presented by Optus: six hours of live music, DJs and performances at the Domain, for a megamix of international and local acts, food and bars.
Overall more than 300 events will take place: 20 official, 60+ curated WorldPride Arts events, 20+ curated WorldPride Sport events and an estimated 200+ open-access Pride Amplified events.
Beyond the boogie
After your clients have danced until they can dance no more, what better way for them to relax and unwind than to explore some of New South Wales’s stunning scenery?
New South Wales offers everything from world-class food and wine; an extensive coastline with pristine beaches and islands; opportunities to see native Australian animals in the wild; heritage-listed national parks; the world’s oldest living culture; as well as modern urban culture and an exciting events calendar. Key destinations include the Blue Mountains, Hunter Valley, Port Stephens, Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour, Byron Bay, Batemans Bay, Kiama and Jervis Bay.
Premier Holidays is offering a four-night package with Qantas flights departing London on 21 February, allowing time for a little rest before the fun begins.
The trip includes accommodation at the centrally located Vibe Hotel, with a rooftop pool and spacious guest rooms. Also included are tickets to the first two headline events: Live & Proud and Domain Dance Party. Prices start at £1,799pp based on two people sharing – book by 3 November 2022.
Extension options include five nights visiting Blue Mountains and Hunter Valley from £639; the seven-night East Coast Explorer for £799; and five-night Grand Pacific Coast Discovery from £889. Extensions include fully inclusive compact car hire. A March package is also available.
