From Italian-themed photo booths to limoncello carts, Citalia’s new Sorrento wedding product ensures that clients and their guests will have a day to remember. By Abra Dunsby
The coastal town of Sorrento looks out on to the aquamarine water of the Bay of Naples, and is dotted with olive groves, vineyards and lemon trees, making it a picturesque wedding choice.
“Sorrento is the most popular of our wedding destinations, ahead of Lake Garda and Lake Como,” explains Citalia product manager Laura Mason. “The views are beautiful and lots of our wedding venues here offer sweeping views of the sea and the cliffs.”
Sorrento’s popularity will no doubt continue to soar now that Citalia has launched an array of quirky new wedding product. We chatted to Laura Mason and the wedding team to find out more.
What does the new product include?
We offer Italian-themed photo booths and props, limoncello carts, pre or post-wedding vineyard tours, pizza making parties, sunset cruises and beach BBQs in the Bay of Marina del Cantone along the Amalfi Coast.
The latter includes entrance to the beach club and transportation to and from Sorrento. The sunset cruise can be taken either on the same day as the wedding with the guests (the boat takes up to 12 people) or on a different day for just the bride and groom, which is very romantic. The sunset cruise costs €280 for just the bride and groom, or €375 for 12 people.
Why did you launch the new product?
We understand that each wedding is unique so we wanted to offer a range of extras that make clients’ days really special and tailored to them.
Whether they want a relaxed day with only a few guests or a more formal event, we want to make their dream come true.
And, of course, we wanted to bring authentic elements of Italy into the new product. Details such as arriving at the wedding ceremony in a vintage Fiat 500 make a day feel really special.
These extras can all be booked in resort with the wedding planner. Wedding planners are offered to all clients as part of our standard wedding package.
What’s the most popular element of the new product?
The limoncello cart is popular as it gives the guests something to do while the couples are having their photos taken.
The photo booth is also a hit and can take place at the reception venue for a bit of fun. Prices for the lemon cart start from €195 depending on the number of people and the photo booth costs €300 for an hour.
What’s the most popular Sorrento wedding venue?
The Cloisters. It’s a fantastic open-air garden in the centre of Sorrento that dates back to the eighth century. It’s a truly stunning, romantic location when it’s decorated for a wedding so it’s easy to see why it’s so popular.
