Preferred Hotels & Resorts is launching nine new properties this year, including Sommerro, a 242-room spa hotel opening in Oslo this September. Guests will sleep in art-deco rooms and swim in the city’s first rooftop pool.

This March, Relais & Chateaux will add Tipperary’s Cashel Palace, which dates back to 1732. The Irish hotel has 42 rooms and suites, a ballroom, spa and Guinness bar. Brindos, Lac & Chateaux, near Biarritz, will follow in April.

This spring the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana will celebrate the launch of Rockaway Bay Water Park. The attraction will have 26 slides as well as an adults-only pool, two bars and a food truck area.

The Saxon Spa at The Saxon Hotel and Villas in Johannesburg has added New York-based brand Ling to its treatments menu. The environmentally friendly brand is used for a range of facials and a “deep-sleep wellness massage”.
