Simply a city like no other, Vancouver effortlessly combines the excitement and energy of a modern city with the invigorating appeal of the Great Outdoors. From spring’s abundance of cherry blossoms and summer’s sparkling waterfront days, through to the city’s autumn cultural festivals and the snowy winter wonderland on the mountain peaks, Vancouver offers its visitors year-round adventures. In this laid-back urban metropolis that sits right on the edge of a spectacular natural landscape, visitors can explore diverse neighbourhoods, decadent dining, outdoor pursuits and multicultural attractions.

One highlight of any visit to Vancouver is a bike ride around Stanley Park and along the seawall pathway, which trails the city’s waterfront and provides a photo opportunity complete with stunning cityscape backdrop. This isn’t the only place in the city it’s safe to cycle, though – the whole metropolis is bike-friendly, so exploring the city on two wheels is one of the best ways to see the sights.

Those who prefer to keep their feet firmly on the ground might like to make a beeline for Downtown Vancouver. It’s a neighbourhood easily discovered on foot, with plenty of arts and entertainment venues to step into en route. Other neighbourhoods visitors will surely love to explore and fully immerse themselves in the culture of are Chinatown, Gastown and West End.

Bordered by the Pacific Ocean, Vancouver is a popular pre- and post-cruise destination. Suggest visitors tag on three or four days – the recommended length of stay for the city – to discover its cosmopolitan urban core and natural surroundings. Similarly, holidaymakers boarding the Rocky Mountaineer or heading to Whistler for a ski holiday might like to bookend their trip with a Vancouver city break.

Only adding to the diversity of Vancouver is the multicultural nature of its citizens. People from countries all around the world reside in this eclectic Canadian hub and have influenced its culinary scene so heavily that there’s something delectable available to suit the taste of every visitor.

Plus, with travellers becoming more and more eco-conscious, it’s worth noting that sustainability and responsible tourism lies at the heart of Vancouver’s values – yet another selling point for the city. Travellers won’t have to choose between city and nature here.

To learn more about the urban centre and its natural wonders, agents can register for and complete the Vancouver Specialist training programme (find the link at the bottom of this page). Not only will this bring newfound knowledge and potential to increase Canada sales, it also promises invitations to webinars, access to a Destination Experience Pass, which provides complimentary admission for two to the attractions and sightseeing activities in the city, as well as a Vancouver Specialist certificate and logo.
