Aman at Sea has appointed Jonathan Wilson, former vice-president of Princess Cruises and Hilton Worldwide, as its new chief executive officer.
Wilson will work with Vlad Doronin, Aman’s chairman and chief executive, to lead the development and implementation of Aman’s first superyacht, which will set sail in 2027.
Wilson has over 20 years of experience in both the hotel and cruise industries. He has served as vice-president of customer experience at Hilton Worldwide and held roles at both Princess Cruises and Cunard Line, including vice-president positions in hotel operations and product development.
“It is a privilege to be joining the company to lead the development of Aman at Sea,” said Wilson, calling the project “an exciting new endeavour for the visionary brand which will bring the first world-class Aman experience to the world’s oceans”.
The 2027 launch will mark the first vessel for the brand’s new yacht division, a joint venture between Aman and Cruise Saudi, first announced in December 2021.
Designed by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, the 183-meter-long vessel will feature 50 suites. The official name of the yacht is yet to be announced.
