French hotel brand Beaumier has taken on management of the Petunia hotel in Ibiza, which will undergo a soft refurbishment later this year.
Petunia is the luxury boutique hotel group’s first foray outside of France and Switzerland. Its portfolio currently includes eight properties across the Alps, Provence and Cote d’Azur, alongside three recently acquired hotels in Wengen.
Petunia is located on the south-west coast of the island, adjacent to the Cala Carbo beach and close to the village of Sant Josep. The 42-room hotel faces Es Vedra, a 400-metre-high rocky island which is part of the Cala d’Hort nature reserve.
Beaumier chief executive Eric Darde said: “Petunia is an intimate hideaway with its style and influences deeply rooted in its natural surroundings. For us, that makes it the perfect Beaumier property, and we are delighted at the opportunity to continue working with the Petunia team to carry on the legacy of this family-owned hotel.”
Alexander Rae, head of mergers and acquisitions at the group, said Ibiza was a “natural extension of the Beaumier portfolio.” He continued: “Petunia and Ibiza complement our existing hotels and fits with our growth strategy to continue unlocking new countries, expanding across vacation markets in Europe."
