Belmond has launched four alpine journeys for The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, A Belmond Train, as it prepares for a number of renovations and launches across its portfolio in 2023.
The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, A Belmond Train, will offer four winter journeys between Paris and the French Alps in December 2023, calling at the alpine train stations of Albertville, Moutiers and Bourg-Saint-Maurice.
Guests will be able to disembark in either of the three stations, providing access to the ski resorts of Megeve and the Mont Blanc, Courchevel and Three Valleys, and Tignes-Val d’Isere. Guests will be able to stay in eight new suites, which will make their debut in June 2023.
The voyages will depart from Paris on 15 and 21 December, and from the French Alps to Paris on 16 and 22 December. The current wintertime offering already features trips to Vienna, Florence, Paris and Venice. An overnight stay in a Historic Cabin starts at £3,300, and from £7,300 in the new suites. Rates include dinner, breakfast, brunch and a shared transfer to Gare De Lyon in Paris.
Elsewhere in the Belmond portfolio, in Cape Town the Mount Nelson, A Belmond Hotel, is hosting a pop-up of the African fine-dining Edge restaurant in its 60-seat Oasis Bistro until April 2023.
In Rio de Janeiro, the Copacabana Palace, A Belmond Hotel, celebrates its centenary year in 2023, with a series of events and cultural programming including the Copa Ball to mark Rio Carnival in February.
In May, the Maroma, A Belmond Hotel, in the Riviera Maya will reopen following a renovation. The property will debut 10 new waterfront suites, a nature-focused wellness experience in partnership with Guerlain, new sustainability initiatives and a fresh gastronomic offering under Mexican-born executive chef Daniel Camacho.
In Portofino a multi-phase renovation will begin this year at the Splendido, A Belmond Hotel, which is housed in a former 16th-century Benedictine monastery. The first new spaces are due to be unveiled this June.
And Belmond’s new luxury river cruise ship – Coquelicot – will start sailing in France in May, featuring three ensuite cabins and an indoor salon with a champagne bar.
