Travel advisors from across the UK have been recognised in Carrier’s annual awards ceremony for top performing agents.
Held at BAFTA Piccadilly, the ceremony took place in the famous Princess Anne Theatre, with managing director Natasha Towey hailing 2023 as “record breaking” and the operator’s best trade sales year to date.
Towey attributed the success of Carrier, which recently picked up an award of its own at the 2024 TTG Luxury Travel Awards, a result of growing and strengthening its agent partnerships.
“Our annual awards ceremony is one of our most anticipated events of the year. The theme of this year’s awards was ‘family’, which felt very appropriate as our agent relationships are so very important to us,” Towey said.
“These partnerships are integral to Carrier’s success, and we’re always delighted to get together and shine a light on these incredible companies and individuals who we believe are leading the way in luxury travel and should be honoured for their achievements.”
The event recognised agents who produced the highest revenues for Carrier by region, as well as some new national awards to recognise individual luxury travel designer.
Acknowledging the top performing individuals in the UK, Jen Lonergan, founder of The Luxury Traveller, scooped Luxury Travel Designer of the Year, while Retail Agent of the Year was awarded to Travelwise and High Street Agent of the Year was presented to More Travel.
Carrier also unveiled its latest partnership with non-profit organisation, Shinta Mani Foundation, Cambodia, founded by hotel architect and philanthropist, Bill Bensley.
Through the collaboration, agents attending the event were presented with the opportunity to win a six-night twin-centre stay in Cambodia worth more than $12,000 by making a donation to the foundation ahead of the ceremony, with Carrier also matching donations made by agents to give a total of almost £3,000 raised.
“It’s been a real honour to have the Shinta Mani Foundation as our charitable partner for this year’s A-List Awards,” Carrier’s head of sales, Rick Milne added.
“At Carrier our vision is to harness the power of our people and our trips to enable communities at home and around the world to live extraordinary, fulfilled lives. We’re extremely aligned with the ethos of the Shinta Mani Foundation who are a driving force for change within the Cambodian community.”
