Carrier has announced Natasha Towey as the new managing director of the business, taking up her role on 1 January.
Towey’s appointment follows the departure of Mark Duguid to head up Kuoni as UK managing director. Towey has been with the luxury operator for 11 years, with the most recent five spent as head of marketing for the brand.
She will report to Duguid, who will continue to oversee the strategic direction of the business.
Towey said: “I’m extremely passionate and proud of what we have already achieved together over the years. Carrier is tended by people who love it, that’s why it has a personality and culture you won’t find anywhere else. I believe there’s something truly special and personal about why we stand out, why we win awards – and it’s our people and our values. It’s both an ambition and privilege to lead such as established, reputable and successful brand.”
Carrier’s first female managing director, Towey’s career started with Cresta Holidays, and also included Mytravel before joining Carrier in 2011, joining the senior team in 2017.
“I’m delighted that Natasha has accepted the role and that she will also be Carrier’s first female managing director,” said Duguid.
“She is highly experienced, successful and well-regarded in the business and industry. Under her leadership as head of marketing, the strategic change in our marketing approach has had an undeniable impact on our overall success, as well as helping us secure market-leading status. It’s the combination of her vision, expertise and people-first approach as well as her deep affection for the brand that makes her the perfect natural successor.”
Carrier has been experiencing its best ever year, while also celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, and is the four-time winner of the TTG Luxury Travel Awards Luxury Operator of the Year.
The operator also recently announced the return of it annual agent recognition dinner, taking place in person for the first time since the pandemic. The A List Awards takes place on 23 February at the BAFTA headquarters in London.
