LVMH-owned high-end hotel brand Cheval Blanc has added a property to its portfolio, with the opening of a 30-room hotel in St Tropez.
Adding to hotels in the Maldives, St Barths and Courchevel, Cheval Blanc St-Tropez opens its doors today as the fourth “maison” under the brand.
LVMH Hotel Management bought La Residence de la Pinede in 2016 and invested in a “significant evolution” of the property, including “deliberately downsizing” the hotel to just 30 rooms and suites, most featuring a terrace or balcony.
The hotel is within walking distance of the centre of St Tropez, and architect on the project was local native Francois Vieillecroze, with interiors by Jean-Michel Wilmotte.
Three Michelin-starred chef Arnaud Donckele is overseeing the hotel’s main restaurant La Vague d’Or – a historic feature of the hotel – and other highlights at the hotel include a second restaurant, La Terrasse. The Spa Cheval Blanc has four treatment rooms and a couple’s room and is the only Guerlain spa in St Tropez.
There is also an infinity pool and stretch of private beach on a prime spot on Saint Tropez Bay.
Nights at the new Cheval Blanc St-Tropez start from €850, based on two sharing, including breakfast.
The group is also working on its next project, Cheval Blanc Paris which will open in Spring 2020.
The 72-room hotel is within the city’s Art Deco former shopping arcade La Samaritaine and will have 36 rooms and 36 suites, a spa, swimming pool and a restaurant by Arnaud Donckele.
