The decision to axe the 29 April event in Southampton was made following a “careful" review, the line said in a statement shared with TTG

Up to 400 places had been made available to agents for the event.

The ship was due to dock at the Mayflower Terminal on 29 April, five days before its inaugural cruise later that week.

A Cunard spokesperson said: “As we put the finishing touches to Queen Anne and prepare for the long-awaited maiden voyage on 3 May, after careful review we shall be repurposing some of the schedule over the next two weeks.

“The changes to the operational test are being made to ensure that our ship is ready to delight our guests sailing on the maiden voyage on 3 May.”

Cunard said it would not move the test event to another date. However, the line told agents: “We hope to find new opportunities for many of you to experience Queen Anne in the future.”
