Explora Journeys has teamed up with three Michelin star Italian chef Mauro Uliassi, who will curate a culinary experience for guests onboard the line’s first ship, Explora I.
Uliassi will be the first guest chef at Anthology, one of 11 culinary experiences onboard. Guest chefs collaborate with the line’s head of culinary Franck Garanger, and Uliassi will create “an artful blend of tradition and modernity in Italian cuisine.”
The culinary experience will be available from 17 July on the ship’s 15-night maiden journey from Southampton, which sails to the Norwegian fjords and the Arctic Circle to Copenhagen. It will be on offer to guests until the ship arrives in New York on 25 September.
As Anthology isn’t part of the inclusive culinary experiences, the tasting menu costs €190pp, with wine pairing at €75pp.
Uliassi gained three Michelin stars at his restaurant Uliassi in Senigallia near Ancona on the Adriatic coast in Italy. Jason Gelineau, head of product at Explora Journeys, said: "We are thrilled to welcome chef Uliassi onboard Explora I and offer our guests the opportunity to indulge in his truly exceptional culinary creations. Balancing contemporary techniques and creativity with a deep respect for regional culinary history, our chefs have one aim: to enhance the memories that guests take with them long after their journey has ended."
Uliassi added: “It is a unique opportunity to showcase my interpretation of Italian cuisine and celebrate the beauty and sustainability of the sea. Inspired by the endless treasures of the ocean, I look forward to creating a truly multi-sensory experience for guests dining at Anthology."
Explora I will be the first vessel from Explora Journeys, the luxury lifestyle brand of the MSC Group.
