Eyos Expeditions is set to launch skiiing expeditions in Antarctica and Greenland with an Olympic medallist and a polar explorer.
Partnering with luxury ski equipment designer Bomber Ski, Eyos will start offering week-long, superyacht-based trips guided by former Olympic skiier Bode Miller and explorer Doug Stoup from next year.
The Greenland trip is scheduled for April 2020 and Antarctica for December of the same year.
“Over the last several years, we have worked with Doug on skiing expeditions in both the Arctic and Antarctic,” said Ben Lyons, chief executive of Eyos.
“The opportunity now to have both Bode and Doug onboard makes for an unbelievable combination; both are ideal skiing partners and great companions off the slopes.”
The 77-metre, 22-guest yacht is called Legend and has an ice-strengthened hull designed for polar waters, a Jacuzzi, onboard cinema, and five-person submersible that can dive 1,000 feet.
Bob Cooper, chief executive of Bomber Ski, said: “We’ll be in both Antarctica and Greenland in the early season, when the snow is still fresh and pristine, and enjoy stunning runs from peak to coast, enjoyable for skiers of every level.”
When not skiing, guests can join Eyos’s guides in kayaking, paddle-boarding, watching humpback whales, or hiking to see penguins.
Every guest will receive Bomber Ski equipment including skis, poles and helmets.
