Four Seasons has launched its latest hotel in North America, with the arrival of a property in New Orleans.
Sitting on the Mississippi waterfront and close to the city’s historic French Quarter and Warehouse Arts District, the Four Seasons Hotel New Orleans is inside the city’s refashioned World Trade Center, which dates back to 1968.
The debut hotel has 341 rooms and suites designed by Bill Rooney Studio and restaurants and bars include Chandelier Bar, featuring a 15,000-piece light and glass installation and a garden patio. The Miss River restaurant is headed up by local chef Alon Shaya, featuring the best of Louisiana-inspired cuisine, and opening in the autumn will be Chemin a la Mer by Donald Link, another Louisiana-born chef.
The hotel will also feature an oyster bar, a New Orleans tradition given new direction under Link. Also still to come at the hotel is a crescent-shaped rooftop pool surrounded with private cabanas that will open in the autumn, along with a 24/7 fitness centre conceived by Harley Pasternak, and a spa.
The hotel’s art collection features the work of local artists and those inspired by the city, while guests will find a state-of-the-art cultural exhibit designed to celebrate the diverse cultures of New Orleans within indoor and outdoor observation decks on the 33rd and 34th floors.
The hotel can also arrange a private jazz concert at Preservation Hall; an evening with a local chef who will share their favourite local haunts before preparing dinner for guests in their own restaurant; or a private streetcar ride through the historic Garden District with a personal guide.
“New Orleans is a destination that has long been on our wish list,” said Christian Clerc, president of global operations, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. “We could not be more excited to introduce Four Seasons to this incredible community, and to share an authentic and memorable New Orleans experience with guests from near and far. The transformation of this truly iconic building is stunning, and serves as a wonderful addition to Four Seasons’ portfolio of exceptional properties.”
To mark its opening, the hotel’s introductory offer includes 20% savings on the regular room rate, while the Stay Longer package includes a complimentary third night.
