Four Seasons is to open a new resort in the Florida city of Jacksonville as part of a major development.
Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences Jacksonville, which is set to debut in 2026, will be part of the Jacksonville Shipyards project on the banks of St Johns river.
The new-build resort complex will offer 170 rooms and suites, alongside 26 private homes, as well as four dining outlets and lounges including a rooftop restaurant.
Other facilities will include a spa, several outdoor pools, gym and a Kids for All Seasons programme of activities for younger guests.
The Jacksonville Shipyards project will be based around a marina and will be located close to the stadium of the Jacksonville Jaguars’ NFL team, which is also due to undergo a major redevelopment.
Four Seasons is developing the new Jacksonville resort with US entrepreneur Shahid Khan, who owns the Jaguars as well as English Premier League side Fulham.
He also purchased full ownership of the Four Seasons Hotel Toronto in 2016, which is the hotel chain’s flagship property.
Bart Carnahan, Four Seasons’ executive vice president, global business development and portfolio management, said: “We look forward to working with Mr Khan to expand our presence in Florida and extend our long-time partnership together, contributing to the city’s bright future and achieving our shared vision of building communities and creating exceptional luxury experiences.”
The hotel will be the sixth for the brand in the US state alongside hotels in Miami, Orlando, Palm Beach, Surfside and Fort Lauderdale.
