Four Seasons is to launch a hotel in Melbourne, created within what’s being pitched as Australia’s tallest building and the world’s tallest vertical garden.
The hotel is part of the AUD$2.7 billion STH BNK By Beulah development, with Four Seasons Hotel Melbourne including 210 rooms at the top of the western tower of the project.
Four Seasons Hotel Melbourne will be the second Four Seasons in Australia, joining the existing Four Seasons Hotel Sydney.
Construction is expected to begin late 2022 and will take approximately five years to complete.
Guests will arrive to panoramic views of the city via the hotel’s Sky Lobby on the 63rd floor. STH BNK By Beulah is said to be “a project of an unprecedented scale for Melbourne” and the property will also offer an integrated health and wellness experience; large rooftop garden, restaurant and bar; and multiple event spaces, including a 3,000-seat auditorium.
Also within the “vertical mini-metropolis” will be private residences, and many shops, all within two twisting terraced forms. The vertical garden will reach a total of 5.5km, the length of Melbourne’s famous The Tan running track nearly one-and-a-half times over.
“This project will set a new standard for luxury in Melbourne, offering guests an exceptional Four Seasons experience set within an environment that will be unmatched in this market,” said Bart Carnahan, president, global business development and portfolio management, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.
“At Four Seasons, we look for opportunities where we can be part of innovative new projects, with partners who share our vision for excellence – Four Seasons Hotel Melbourne is no exception, and we look forward to welcoming guests through our doors in the years ahead.”
Hotel guests will also have access to experiences available at STH BNK By Beulah, such as gardens, programming within the art and culture spaces, co-working facilities and the STH BNK Market Hall.
