The Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo has opened in Mexico in a 3,000-acre nature reserve, while the Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences Nashville is now welcoming music lovers in the US.
The 157-room Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo is located in a nature reserve on a six-mile stretch of Mexico’s Pacific coastline, and just 2% of the surrounding reserve is being developed.
Many of the cliffside and beachfront accommodation options include private pools, and the resort also offers an 18-hole golf course, the Casa Terrazas pop-up spa, three pools and three beaches. Later this year the resort will unveil Caramelo, a fully supervised programme for younger guests, and in 2023 it will add the Escondite teen centre. The resort has a 35-acre kitchen farm, and dining options are overseen by Mexican chef Elena Reygadas.
Resident biologists and researchers lead guests on guided hikes along natural footpaths created by indigenous wildlife, through jungles and along the coastline. Guests can learn about medicinal plants used since pre-Hispanic times, and get to know the 70 endemic species and hundreds more birds, mammals, amphibians and reptiles that call Tamarindo home. They can also visit the Discovery Centre to learn more about the region’s biodiversity and rewilding efforts.
Four Seasons has opened the property in partnership with Mexican real estate firm Paralelo 19, and has formed philanthropic alliances with Ensamble Artesano and Taller Maya to protect pre-Hispanic culture and support Mexican artisans.
The hotel group has also opened the Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences Nashville, offering 235 rooms and suites and 144 residences.
The property features a spa, fitness centre, seventh-floor pool deck and events space, and has a keen focus on music. Four Seasons has formed a partnership with music event organiser Songwriter City to offer the Suite Sounds package, where guests meet industry professionals and hear a group of chart-topping writers talk – and play – through their artistic process.
Mimo Restaurant and Bar offers classic Italian dishes featuring locally sourced ingredients, led by Aniello “Nello” Turco, who earned a Michelin star at Mio at Four Seasons Hotel Beijing. Director of food and beverage Alex Hernandez said: “Mimo is a place where chef Nello’s signature caviar linguine, enhanced with local fried okra, happily shares a table with not-so-classic fried chicken and waffles elevated with homemade sauces that offer hints of soy and Calabrian chillies.”
