Global Travel Collection shared the business update at its annual summer soiree
Global Travel Collection said the transition represents a ‘repositioning’ that sees it become the central home for all luxury independent travel advisors within the Internova Travel Group.
The shift was among updates shared during Global Travel Collection’s second annual Summer Soiree, held at London’s Hotel Cafe Royal and part of the company’s Elevate Connections series, which brings together supplier partners and travel advisors.
“This event not only celebrated our collective successes but was also a pivotal moment to communicate the exciting changes within our organisation,” said Angie Licea, president of Global Travel Collection. “As of today, we proudly house all independent luxury advisors under the Global Travel Collection brand. This integration expands our global reach, enhancing service offerings for all travel clients.”
Global Travel Collection represents more than 1,500 luxury travel agencies and advisors, with the company’s senior leaders continuing on to highlight how the Altour change would enhance collaboration with independent travel advisors and create new opportunities.
“We are excited to unite Altour’s independent travel advisors under the Global Travel Collection umbrella, marking a transformative step in our growth,” added Francesca Mendola, UK vice-president of Global Travel Collection.
“While we already know many of them, we look forward to learning more about their businesses and exploring how we can boost their revenue opportunities. Our business model offers the best home for these advisors, providing dedicated tools, support, and opportunities to diversify into other travel sectors.”
The soiree, organised by the EMEA team at Global Travel Collection and Your Event Solutions – also part of Internova – saw more than 90 independent travel advisors and 100 preferred partners from the UK and abroad gather together for the evening.
Guests also enjoyed a performance by the Brixton Chamber Orchestra, known for their vibrant and eclectic music. This Lambeth-based charity, who also provided the entertainment at this year’s TTG Luxury Travel Awards, consists of both professional and volunteer musicians from diverse backgrounds.
“It is an honour to welcome the Brixton Chamber Orchestra to our event. The charity provides incredible musical experiences for the Lambeth community, and we are proud to support arts and culture in south London,” added Mendola.
