Vietnam’s south-east beach resort of Nha Trang has become the setting for Gran Melia’s first hotel in the country
The Gran Melia Nha Trang has debuted with 94 villas spread around a private bay, three restaurants, several bars and a spa among its amenities.
The hotel’s 20 different room categories range from deluxe rooms and oceanfront suites with pools to the resort’s largest accommodation, the 686-square-metre Grand Ocean Pool Villa with four bedrooms and a wide oceanfront pool terrace.
All rooms and suites are set inside modern villas surrounded by tropical gardens with room furnishings by contemporary Italian furniture designer Minotti and bathroom products by Spanish perfumer Carner Barcelona.
Spanish cuisine is served up at one of three resort restaurants, Hispania, which is the first Asian outpost of the highly-acclaimed Spanish chain. Guests can also find locally-sourced Vietnamese dishes at Natura and Japanese food at Shibui.
Alongside a large infinity pool, a pilates, yoga and gym studio overlooks the bay, while the Song Spa features four treatment rooms and a steam room with signature Japanese onsen and shiatsu rituals on the menu. The resort caters to families with a separate kids’ pool area and outdoor playground, plus a Wanderlust kids club offering a decent range of activities such as mini-chef experiences and movie nights in a private cinema.
