Grand Hyatt Barcelona opens in city's La Alta district
The Grand Hyatt Barcelona has opened in the city’s La Alta district, marking the first urban branch of the luxury hotel brand in Spain.
The 465-room city hotel is the fifth Grand Hyatt to open in Europe, with this newest addition situated close to the Monastery of Pedralbes and Camp Nou.
Interiors have been designed in Art Deco style, with wood-panelled walls, statement lighting and pastel furnishings to create a modern yet warm environment. All suites come with a deep-soak bathtub and rainforest shower, and are located on high floors to offer views of Barcelona.
The hotel has also been designed to target business travellers, offering 22 meeting rooms - 14 of which have natural lighting - and 250 parking spots with electrical charging facilities.
The Grand Hyatt Barcelona also offers the Oasis Spa by Natura Bisse, a first-of-its-kind collaboration with the Spanish brand. The hotel also has an outdoor pool as well as its own nightclub, Zuu.
For dining, options include South American cuisine in the hotel’s Peruvian rooftop restaurant Maymanta, or Mediterranean bites at the more laid-back Sofia Bar & Tapas.
Lena, a steakhouse headed by renowned Michelin-starred chef Dani Garcia, will also open later this year. Desserts and lighter snacks can be found in coffee shop Philosophia.
