IHG to make Turks and Caicos debut with three new hotels
The hospitality company has confirmed plans to unveil three new luxury resorts on the Caribbean island by 2027.
IHG Hotels & Resorts is set to make its Turks and Caicos debut after announcing new signings across its fast-growing global luxury and lifestyle collection.
The hotel company has partnered with Molo Hotel Group and the UK-based Lighthouse Hotel Management to open three new resorts on Grace Bay on the north coast of the island of Providenciales by 2027. The move is part of IHG’s longterm plan to expand its portfolio in the Americas, the company said.
All properties will be designed by Glasgow-based architecture and interior design studio Ica, in collaboration Turks and Caicos’ Conservative Architecture and Miami landscapers EDSA.
The InterContinental Turks & Caicos is the first property on the list, offering just 59 seaview suites across a seven-storey new build. Guests can expect a ground floor restaurant and bar, as well as a pool, fitness centre and signature Club InterContinental lounge.
The news of the luxury brand’s arrival in the country comes after IHG’s publication of the Americas InterContinental Development Brochure, which confirmed plans to increase its collection of 43 properties in the region to 55.
The InterContinental Turks & Caicos will be neighboured by Kimpton Turks & Caicos, a luxury boutique hotel with 192 rooms and seven dining options, including a beachfront restaurant and a rooftop bar. There will also be three outdoor pools, a spa and a fitness centre, while other highlights include complimentary bicycle hire, in-room yoga mats and pet-friendly policies.
Guests will also be able to avail of the Kimpton’s ‘Forgot It? We’ve Got It!’ programme, which provides necessities (think phone chargers and toothbrushes) to travellers who’ve forgotten to pack them.
IHG will also open its first Hotel Indigo on the islands, as part of its plans to open 155 branches of its ‘Neighbourhood Hotel’ brand worldwide. Located close to the InterContinental and Kimpton resorts, Hotel Indigo Turks & Caicos will have 56 guest rooms across one new building and two existing structures. The property will also have an outdoor pool and fitness room, as well as a restaurant, bar and cafe.
IHG’s latest investment in the Americas, comes after the company revealed that the region accounted for 12% of its 2023 signings.
