Cruise industry veteran Andy Magowan is to leave Crystal Cruises this week after 17 months with the ultra-luxury line.
Prior to joining Crystal, the vice-president of sales for the UK and EMEA region held positions at Hurtigruten, Celestyal, Ponant, SeaDream Yacht Club, Swan Hellenic, Cunard and Norwegian Cruise Line.
Magowan will leave on 31 May.
Matias Lira, senior vice-president of trade sales for the UK, EMEA and Latin America, thanked Magowan for his help “establishing Crystal in the UK and Ireland”.
“We wish Andy well in his new ventures and thank him for his contributions in helping establish Crystal within the UK and Ireland,” said Lira.
“Thanks to the existing foundation, we are able to ensure that Stephen Joyner, senior manager of trade sales for UK and Ireland, along with his supportive team of both inside sales and newly created regional sales managers will be able to continue the brand growth, recognition and admiration from our incredible adviser communities.”
Crystal relaunched under a new name and brand proposition, Crystal – Exceptional at Sea, after it was acquired by the A&K Travel Group in 2022.
The line refurbished Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony with updated suites, enhanced onboard wellness offerings and new dining and entertainment options.
Each ship’s spa and gym were revamped with its courts now able to host both paddle tennis and pickleball.
