Jimmy Rowan has been named as the new head of ITC Group’s sporting division Spectate, having worked in various managerial and sport-focused roles at Virgin Atlantic since 2010.
Rowan joins the luxury sports tours and tailor-made sporting event specialist following the departure of Alex Catton in August this year.
During his time with Virgin Atlantic Rowan managed the sports TMC agents and direct commercial sports relationships and strategy. These included associations such as the PCA (Professional Cricket Association), PGA (Professional Golf Association), PFA (Professional Football Association) Premiership Rugby and the LMA (League Managers Association.)
Rowan said: “I am delighted to be joining the team at Spectate. Having worked in travel and aviation for more years than I care to remember, with roles that include sports travel management, business development, account management and commercial sports strategy, I am very much looking forward to engaging with clients and associations, old and new, in this exciting role.”
A group of leading agent partners recently joined a Spectate trip to Paris to get to know more about the sports event brand, and attend the prestigious Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe horse race.
They were hosted by Lisa Smith, ITC Group’s chief operating officer and Inspiring Travel’s managing director, and Di Selby, ITC Group’s business development director.
Forming part of TTG Luxury's Day of Luxury, the new-look TTG Luxury Travel Summit will return on the afternoon of Friday 3 November at the stunning Kimpton Fitzroy, London.
