12|14 Stradom House opens in Krakow this spring in a former church and monastery, located between the ancient Jewish Quarters and Old Town.
Part of Autograph Collection, 12|14 Stradom House offers 125 rooms and suites, including the 155-square-metre Chapel Loft, which is the largest suite in the city.
Dining options include the seafood restaurant John Dory and Gaia, which serves Mediterranean-inspired dishes. The bar and wine cellar Hedwig’s Club is housed in the Church of St Hedwig. A private membership club will offer members access to the hotel’s facilities.
The Sol spa has been created in partnership with facialist Alexandra Soveral, and products are hand blended using natural raw ingredients. Inspired by local salt mining traditions, the signature Salt Bath treatments incorporate natural salts and essential oils, and guests are given the oil created for their treatment. The spa also offers a 20-metre indoor pool, gym, steam room, hydromassage showers, bio sauna, infrared salt sauna and sound room.
The interior design has been led by design company ADC Atelier, and guests can expect to see frescoes and high ceilings restored with the use of bold colours and textures. Artwork has been commissioned from local Polish artists including Przemek Pyszczek, Marcin Janusz and Dorota Buczkowska.
A spokesperson explained: “The lobby captures Krakow’s rich history and culture through mineral salt-inspired walls, classic Krakow tiled floor patterns, rugs based on 17th-century tapestries and locally sourced vintage furniture. The colour palettes in the artfully designed rooms reference the Krakow skyline, with soft pinks and patinated blues. Classic details are offset with modern furniture such as leather-clad, high-gloss desks and vintage furniture that have been re-upholstered in modern fabrics. “
General manager Lionel Valla added: “We keep it real, and authentic. 12I14 Stradom House, Autograph Collection is a lifestyle destination assembled, transformed, and prepared to be one-of-a-kind experience. It presents a connection with the city, the community and nature, which is exactly what we want to be. We look forward to welcoming guests and locals alike to discover.”
