Travelopia has named Blue Diamond Resorts’ business development manager Luke Swarbrook as its new trade partnerships manager, who will take over from Kev Gaddes following his move to Lusso.
Swarbrook will take up his new position with Travelopia’s Tailormade brand portfolio – Citalia, Sovereign Luxury Travel and American Holidays – on 15 July. He will report into head of sales Simon Garrido.
Travelopia said Swarbrook would bring a high level of trade expertise and insight to the position. In his new role, he will provide support to agent partners as part of the trade partnerships and sales team.
“We had a huge amount of interest and some fantastic candidates to choose from so a big ’well done’ to him," said Garrido. “Luke joins with a huge amount of experience in trade facing roles and brings great contacts and enthusiasm.
"This is a unique and important role covering all aspects of our relationships with our trade partners and I know Luke is relishing the opportunity."
Garrido insisted Travelopia would continue to invest in trade partnerships, agent incentive programmes, regional events and training webinars going forward.
"We have lots more to look forward to in the months ahead and it will be great to have Luke onboard to support the growth and development of these,” he added.
Swarbrook said: “This is a great opportunity for me to join and promote some of the most respected brands in the business and continue to build on the great relationships they have in the trade.
“I’m looking forward to meeting with new and old contacts and continuing to build on our valuable trade partnerships.”
It was last month confirmed Gaddes would move to luxury trade-only tour operator Lusso. He joined Travelopia’s Tailormade brands following the collapse of Thomas Cook in 2019.
