Amari Raaya Maldives has become the latest new property to make its debut in the Indian Ocean destination.
The resort, which opened at the start of August, is on a private island in the Raa Atoll and can be reached by a 45-minute seaplane flight from Male’s Velana International airport.
Amari Raaya Maldives, which is being managed by Bangkok-based Onyx Hospitality Group, offers a range of 187 beachfront and overwater villas. There are also family villas which interconnect and create a shared private outdoor living space.
The resort’s facilities include seven restaurants serving a range of Maldivian, Thai, Asian and international cuisine. Meanwhile, Maai Spa offers Thai-inspired personalised treatments to guests.
Yuthachai Charanachitta, chief executive of Onyx Hospitality Group, said: “This is a momentous investment in the Indian Ocean region, and we are thrilled to manage the prestigious Amari Raaya Maldives on behalf of the esteemed Panchshil Group.
“The Maldives has become a sought-after destination for global travellers, and we are strategically positioned to cater to discerning tourists from key markets, including the UK.”
There is also a kids’ club offering activities for all ages of children, as well as activities and arts and crafts workshops hosted by local artists for all guests.
The resort is located on one of the Raa Atoll’s largest islands - guests can explore the forest and mangroves on walking trails and by climbing watchtowers to enjoy the views.
The hotel has also launched with a promotion to inspire agents to spread the word to their clients, with the chance of a stay for themselves and other prizes.
