Hotel giant Marriott is expecting to open more than 30 properties in 2022 through its luxury brands, including Ritz-Carlton, St Regis, W, Edition, JW Marriott and The Luxury Collection.
The US-based company highlighted its portfolio of upcoming luxury hotels during this month’s International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) Cannes.
Ritz-Carlton is due to open new US hotels in Arizona and New York next year, as well as The Ritz-Carlton, Melbourne in Australia. While the first voyage of its cruise brand, The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, is scheduled to take place in May 2022.
Sister brand St Regis will further expand in the Middle East after opening properites in Cairo and Dubai in 2021, with next year’s debut of St Regis Marsa Arabia Island, The Pearl in Qatar. New hotels will also open in Chicago and Belgrade, as well as St Regis Kanai Resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico.
The design-led W brand is due to expand with new resorts in the Algarve, Sydney, Dubai and Toronto in 2022, while Edition is expected to see six new properties next year in Madrid, Rome, Doha, Tampa, Riviera Maya and Ginza in Tokyo.
Expected new openings under the JW Marriott brand over the next year include Cairo, Istanbul, Mexico and Jeju Island in South Korea.
The Luxury Collection is also set for further expansion with new arrivals in destinations such as Spain, India, Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Tbilisi, Georgia in 2022.
