The new hotel is due to open in the popular Spanish city of Marbella
Luxury hotel brand Mett Social Living has announced its second property, Mett Hotel & Beach Resort Marbella, will welcome guests for the first time from July 2022.
It follows Mett Hotel & Beach Resort Bodrum, which opened in the Turkish city earlier this year.
The new hotel will have 253 rooms and suites, some with private pools, and four restaurants and bars including tapas restaurant Lola Taberna Espanola and Folie, a barefoot beach club offering Mediterranean fare.
“We are room only or bed and breakfast – no all-inclusive, no half board – because we want people to choose their [preferred] experience when they stay with us,” explained Christophe Hobeika, commercial director for Sunset Hospitality Group, Mett Social Living’s umbrella brand.
Hobeika said the resort will have “minimalist and simple” décor, focus on wellbeing, which is a “pillar” of the Mett Social Living brand, and be best suited to “the travellers of today who are looking to unwind and have fun”.
“These are the people that work extremely hard for 11 months of the year,” he added. “They only have one month of holiday and they want to be taken care of and they don’t want to be bothered. We respect their time.”
Plans are currently being laid for the first UK agent fam trips to both the Mett Social Living properties in 2022, after fam trips for other markets took place this year.
“We didn’t have the opportunity to launch [this year] because of restrictions, however next year we believe it’s going to be a product that’s very welcome, and the trade plays a very important role there,” said Hobeika.
“The UK is a huge potential market for us,” he added. “[UK travellers] know Bodrum and Marbella well, so I believe this is a product that has a lot of potential; and hopefully we will make it a success.”
