Mundy Cruising is launching a new range of itineraries combining luxury cruises with the world’s “most iconic” rail journeys.
The cruise specialist agency said it was creating the new train-cruise programme due to “skyrocketing demand for luxury rail travel”.
Options include combining the new La Dolce Vita by Orient Express train service in Tuscany with a cruise along Italy’s coastline or pairing the Vietage by Anantara rail experience in Vietnam with a Mekong river voyage.
Alex Loizou, director of sales, marketing and operations at Mundy Cruising, explained: “We are seeing more and more discerning travellers wishing to embrace the destination in which they are travelling and an itinerary where the journey itself is savoured is an ideal way to do this.
“Trains and ships blend beautifully in this regard, offering unparalleled opportunities to explore the world in comfort and style. We have handpicked only the very best options to create this magical collection, and we can’t wait to share these journeys with our clients.”
Mundy Cruising is also offering options such as travelling on the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express to Venice followed by a cruise around the Mediterranean. Another trip combines an African safari cruise with a trip on Rovos Rail through Botswana and then finishing the holiday with a gorilla trekking experience in Rwanda.
The new collection of cruise-rail packages includes an all-inclusive cruise, luxury rail journey, transfers, flights and stays in top hotels when required.
Mundy has already put the collection on sale, with a 15-night trip combining the Vietage by Anantara train in Vietnam and a Mekong voyage on AmaWaterways’ AmaDara starting from £4,995 per person.
