A newly launched homeworking agency has begun a recruitment drive.
Travology Travel is aiming to bring 10 home-based agents onboard before the end of the year after being launched by ex-Protected Trust Services relationships manager, Lucy Clarke.
Clarke left her role with PTS in June having been responsible for supporting the group’s growing ranks of travel agent members. She is now back with the company as a member with Travology.
“I am nervous about everything that’s going on but I’m more excited than anything else and looking forward to growing my team and getting stuck in,” she told TTG.
Herself a former homeworker, Clarke has spent 22 years in travel and has experience managing home-based agents at Broadway Travel’s Inspired Luxury Escapes brand and working as a team leader at ITC.
Clarke will run Travology from her Chester office, and, following her initial recruitment drive, hopes to employee and mentor agents from outside of the travel industry “with great transferrable skills”.
“I’ve learnt so much during my time with PTS about so many different sides of the industry and want to use that to develop and support both experienced agents and those who are new to travel,” she added.
Agents who join Travology will receive a 75:25 commission split, be given a personalised website and receive social media training.
Staff inductions will take place either at the company’s Chester headquarters or virtually over video call.
Clarke also hopes to host a company conference next year and is considering opening a Travology retail store in the near future.
Travology agents will be able to sell a range of products or specialise in certain types of travel if they wish.
"The industry has faced – and is still facing – such a difficult time so it definitely won’t be all roses but I can’t wait just to get started and build the business," Clarke said. "There seems to be strong demand for 2021 and that’s where we’ll be focusing on."
