Jumeirah Group has launched a new resort in the Maldives, with plans to welcome guests from 1 October 2021.
The all-villa Jumeirah Maldives is located in the North Male Atoll, reachable by speedboat or seaplane from Male Airport.
It features 67 beach and over-water villas in one-, two- and three-bedroom configurations, all of which will offer panoramic views of the Indian Ocean.
The company claims its villas are “among the most spacious in the North Malé Atoll”, starting from 171sqm, while each villa features a private infinity pool and roof-top terrace with a dedicated dining area for guests. The three-bedroom villas also feature their own gym.
Interiors have been designed by Singaporean design studio, Miaja, “echoing modern Mediterranean chic”, the company said.
The resort will feature signature restaurants, Shimmers and Kayto, with Shimmer hosting its own resident DJ and featuring regular live music performance.
Elsewhere the Talise Spa has six overwater treatment rooms, with a range of therapeutic and re-energising treatments as well as daily yoga classes.
Guest activities range from water sports, beach volleyball, billiards and tennis to underwater photography, planting coconut trees and making coconut oil. The resort also offers a submarine tour, which guests can opt to take at night “to experience the rarely-seen underwater world after sunset”.
Meanwhile the resort is hoping to appeal to families with a splash waterpark and indoor play area for kids, while an outdoor cinema will screen family favourites beachside as well as blockbusters more suitable for older audiences.
“The resort offers unparalleled hospitality with a genuine flair that exceeds guest expectations, while pushing the limits of design, culinary and service expertise,” said José Silva, chief executive of Jumeirah Group. “A truly breath-taking addition to the brand’s portfolio, Jumeirah Group’s new home in the Maldives guarantees an immaculate guest experience right from the very moment they set foot in our new contemporary resort.”
