The Lux Collective will open a Maldivian-style luxury overwater resort in Vietnam under the Lux Resorts & Hotels brand in late 2024, on the northern coast of Phu Quoc island.
The villa-only Luxnam Phu Quoc will be adjacent to the Unesco-listed Kien Giang Biosphere Reserve. Paul Jones, chief executive of The Lux Collective, said: “Inspired by the iconic Maldivian-style overwater resorts, this is a first for Vietnam and the region.”
It will be located between the beach and jungle, and the two areas of the resort are connected by a four-kilometre jetty over the lagoon. The resort will offer 126 villas, including 109 overwater villas, 13 beach pool villas, two penthouses and two beachfront pool mansions. The accommodation ranges from one to five-bedroom options.
Facilities will include restaurants, four swimming pools, a children’s playground, a spa and a fitness centre.
Hospitality group The Lux Collective will partner with P Q Hai Quoc Joint Stock Company on the project, and P Q Hai Quoc’s chairman Bao Vu said: “We are certain that this long-term strategic alliance will help to promote Phu Quoc as a heaven-on-earth destination - mapping it as the Maldives of Vietnam - among global travellers.”
The Lux Collective currently manages 16 resorts and hotels in Mauritius, China, Maldives and Ile de la Reunion, and has 12 more hotels in its development pipeline in south-east Asia, China, Europe and Middle East.
