Set for a 2027 opening in Half Moon Bay, the new project will expand the brand’s presence in the Caribbean.
The 132-acre site, overlooking the semi-circular beaches of Half Moon Bay, is surrounded by clifftop landscapes and adjacent to several of Antigua’s protected national parks.
The resort will integrate the island’s history with contemporary design practices, according to One&Only, combining indoor and outdoor spaces while minimising impact on the local eco-system.
One&Only is a subsidiary of Kerzner International and Phillip Zuber, chief executive of the luxury giant, expressed his excitement about the expansion into Antigua and Barbuda. “This is a significant moment for the considered growth of the One&Only portfolio,” said Zuber. “We have found a destination that not only meets but exceeds our vision for creating one-off resorts and experiences.”
The announcement follows One&Only’s plan for a string of openings in the next two years. Moonlight Basin, the collection’s first alpine US resort, is due to open in 2025. Kea Island will launch in Greece during April next year.
The Hon. Gaston Browne, prime minister of Antigua and Barbuda, called the resort “a marquee hospitality project in the Caribbean and the flagship of Antiguan and Barbudan tourism product.”
“We welcome and eagerly anticipate the One&Only resort at Half Moon Bay,” continued Browne.
A collection of private homes is also included in the project.
