A top luxury travel advisor recently fired a warning to the rest of the industry about the increasing number of untrained agents in the sector.
“The biggest problem we have right now is that we’ve opened the floodgates to non-professionals,” Amanda Teale, founder of luxury lifestyle brand Minerva Private Travel & Lifestyle Management, told TTG Luxury.
Her comments got us – and many established agents – thinking. Let’s be honest, Teale’s point is not a new one, but with the number of homeworkers growing rapidly, have we perhaps now reached a crossroads?
She argued the current travel landscape means technically anyone can choose to identify as a travel agent/ advisor, which she believes is "diluting the industry".
TTG wants to know if you agree, and if so, what the sector can do about it.
