Qatar Airways has opened its first Frequent Flyer Lounge outside of Doha at Heathrow Terminal 4, as it also reopens its Premium Lounge at the airport.
The Frequent Flyer Lounge is available to Privilege Club members and frequent flyers from oneworld Alliance partners, including British Airways Executive Club members. It’s located a floor below the Premium Lounge and offers a hot and cold buffet selection and a range of beverages, with views overlooking the tarmac.
The airline’s Premium Lounge in Terminal 4 has also reopened, with seating areas, tarmac views, a martini bar, a dedicated family area and a prayer room. Dining options include a full buffet, an a la carte menu at the brasserie and casual dining at the Global Deli.
Qatar Airways has also opened the enclosed Premium Check-in Area for first and business class customers at Heathrow. Customers are offered beverages in the lobby area while check-in is completed, before receiving their boarding card and fast track invitation.
Qatar Airways group chief executive Akbar Al Baker said the Frequent Flyer lounge “offers passengers across the oneworld Alliance network an oasis of calm and comfort in one of the world’s busiest airports”.
The airline also announced that from 6 December it will be increasing passenger capacity on its flights to and from Perth. Previously operated by the Boeing B777-300ER, it will now use the Airbus A380, featuring a three-class configuration of seating over two decks with a premium lounge.
The aircraft will accommodate an additional 163 passengers daily. In total each flight will offer 517 seats spread across the three cabins, with eight in first class, 48 in business class and 461 economy class seats.
